PROFESSIONAL EVENTS
Mock Interview (11/28/18)
While taking PDP 200 my sophomore year, I participated in a mock interview to enhance my professional skills. This experience was one of the first professional settings that I was apart of. It not only helped my confidence with things such as interviews but it also informed me a great deal on the importance of professionalism. These skills will aid in my future as I prepare for future interviews for jobs and graduate programs.
Etiquette Dinner (09/13/2018)
While also taking PDP 200, participated in an Etiquette Dinner. At this dinner, I was taught the proper way to engage in professional conversations as well as represent myself as a well-mannered individual. These skills will apply to a lot of aspects in my future when I am trying to showcase myself in front of medical professionals.
Research Project Presentation (12/17/2020)
In the classes EXE 401 and 402, my group and I conducted research on the effects of caffeine on short-term memory recall. We found that caffeine did not induce a significant improvement on short-term memory recall. Overall, this experience taught me a lot about how to conduct research and the proper ways of running a study. In the future, these skills will help in graduate school with critical thinking as I learn about proper diagnosis and the steps involved.
Career Fair (10/17/2018)
I attended a career fair during PDP 200 where I was able to introduce myself to various professionals in the health field. I was able to get insight on how they put their foot into the door of their career as well as tips on how I can better prepare myself for the future.
Resume Workshop (11/02/2018)
I attended this Resume workshop with a rather shallow resume to begin with. It wasn't very developed and it still had items from high school included on it. The individuals that ran this workshop helped me put my resume on the right path and mold it to be more professional and up to date.
Graduate School Panel (11/07/2019)
This was a very informative event in the sense that I learned a lot about the process and selection criteria of different graduate programs. They also shared the best ways to prepare now in order to increase my chances of getting into a graduate program.
Wonder 5 Dedication Ceremony through Student Foundation (03/12/2020)
Attending this event as an athlete was a rather neat experience. We were able to listen to some historical figures in the Franklin College alumni athletes and how their experiences were when they attended Franklin.
